Taatjes Financial Group wealth management advisors recognized at recent conference and summit – West Central Tribune

— Brenda Olson, of Taatjes Financial Group, recently attended the 2022 Avantax Wealth Management National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, to receive the Progressive Ongoing Education Award.

Olson received the award Nov. 14 for completing the ongoing education curriculum, having a “not in good order” rate of less than 10%, and for being proficient in the use of firm software.

Before joining Taatjes Financial Group, Olson worked at a local law firm. She is originally from New London, where she grew up on a dairy farm. She still raises livestock and farms alongside her husband and father-in-law.

Four other Taatjes Financial Group employees were recognized by Avantax Wealth Management recently at the Top Advisor Summit, which took place in Oahu, Hawaii.

Claire Molden, Matt Hoekstra, Timothy Mattern and Cynthia Williams attended the summit, which recognizes the top 75 performing advisors within the Avantax network.

At the summit, attendees share industry-leading best practices, participate in informative sessions, and are inspired for future growth by similarly-situated top firms.

Molden was previously employed at Ridgewater College ,where she specialized in federal student aid programs before joining Taatjes Financial Group in 2015. She is now a fully-licensed financial advisor and Ben Taatjes’ key paraplanner.

Mattern spent most of his career in hospitality before making a career change to join the Taatjes Financial Group team in 2016. Besides being a fully-licensed financial advisor, Tim has earned the National Social Security Advisor certificate from the National Social Security Association.

Williams is a fully-licensed assistant that manages Taatjes Financial Group’s entire client services department. She grew up in Pioneertown, California, before attending Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. She has a degree in agriculture science and industries with an emphasis on agribusiness.

Hoekstra has a master of arts in psychology and worked as a marriage and family therapist for five years before joining Taatjes Financial Group in 2016. Hoekstra is now a fully-licensed financial advisor and holds a life, health, and long-term care insurance license.
